Fashionistas>>>>>>: Fashion mistakes you should avoid in 2017 [Part 1]

An Average Nigerian would say something like “how much I get wey you talk say make I dey wear combination” but in truth being fashionable is simple, straightforward and affordable.
Grandpa once told me; dress how you want to be addressed, I’m very sure that quote looks familiar. While some dress to kill, others literally kill the dress. You want to look trendy but you don’t want to overdo it.

1. Shopping for Social media peeps:

Coveteur

We are all as guilty as charged. While it is cool to be internet savvy so as to be up to date with trends. The moment you start buying clothes just to show off on social media then you’re getting it all wrong. You’ll begin to buy clothes you don’t like, clothes that make you uneasy and consequentially your clothes would be for your social media peeps. Normally the kind of clothes, depend on the type of individual which means, when you go for shopping you shop solely for yourself.

2. Avoiding clothes with horizontal shaped lines or stripes:

This particular decision is quite common and it’s mostly made unconsciously. Although most people are a sucker for stripes others just simply avoid it like a plague. The secret of being fashionable is to appear unique and fresh whilst feeling at ease. You should mix it up with floral patterned, plain, dotted, checkered and stripes and watch your stock increase in the fashion department.

3. Childish dressing:

Chill, I know…..I know……. you dress up just so you would look younger than your real age, Yes! and that’s fine, in fact, that is the ultimate goal. But what you don’t know is that people might not take you seriously if you’re dressed like someone waiting for an ice-cream truck with those Ben 10 wristwatches or Spiderman sunglasses. It sounds funny yea? The same way one would look funny. The goal is to look younger not like a kid

4. Believing sneakers is just for sports:

Maybe a few years ago you couldn’t wear a pair of sneakers on a piece of suit or native attire. Nowadays there are wide ranges of sneakers, there are multipurpose sneakers and there are sneakers for specific purposes but one thing is certain there are sneakers for every type of wears. It’s a modern thingy. I’m sure you’ve seen the way Adekunle Gold rocks sneakers with Adire and it looks cool yea? So sneakers aren’t just for athletes they are also for aesthetes.

5. Too Lazy or too lazy to shop:

As weird as this might sound there are people who are actually too lazy to go buy clothes to wear. There is always an excuse, it’s either they are too busy or simply too lazy. Thank God for Jumia and Konga you won’t have to be wearing those same 5 clothes all year round from Monday to Friday.
